Fast-paced mayhem!

I can go a long time between stories about vampires. I can also go a long time between stories with confronting sex.
But when I do read them I want them to be good, so I’m pleased I fell off the wagon and picked them up.
This is one such book. And to top off my luck it’s full of vampires AND sex. AND it’s told with a needle-point wit.
Told in the first person it’s the story of Jade, a young woman drawn into the world of vampires. Because we’re taken into her mind and heart we’re sucked (no pun intended) very quickly into the vortex of her fears and desires.
The pace never slackens; it’s top gear all the way. And dare I say I’m liking her choice of vampire mate!

I am 110% addicted to this series!!

WHOAAAAALY MOLEY!! WOW! Just...WOW! What a fangtastic vampire tale! It is very intriguing, sexy, mystical, appalling, hot, magical, appealing, creepy, funny, snarky, shocking, passionate, awesome and oh so fangelicious all rolled up into this storyline that doesn't just grab your attention, it yanks you so far into the storyline that everything Jade feels, so do you…right down to the very depths of your soul! Jade is one unique character that is hard to explain, yet I loved her all the same. At times I thought she was in her later twenties, other times late teens, but yet I was still surprised when I did find out how old she really is! In some ways (the “normal” ones) she was a character I could totally relate to, understand why she did the things she did, but other times she reminded me of a 4 yr old who missed her much needed afternoon nap! Or a spanking. LOL Yet through it all I found myself rooting for her, admiring her, crying with & for her and yes, I will admit it, I was even a little jealous of her! I mean come on! Not one but TWO vampires vying for her attention? Maybe in different ways (I was nothing better than vampire bait), but still – TWO VAMPIRES!!! I love how the characters are all given their own story within the story. The vampires all have these unique abilities, or powers, how they came to be, etc. If you take all of these pieces - from the humor to the fear, the sass, the anger, the humans, vampires and everything else that this story encompasses, well, I find it all very over-the-top PERFANGTION! Thea has woven all of these parts together so magically that you can't help but be held spellbound! It all works together so beautifully, creating this fangtabulous story that by all rights should be too busy and/or hard to follow, but it isn't! Thea has achieved what so few authors can - a uniquely dark, naughty, evil, sassy & sarcastically witty vampire romance series! It is one helluva read that has so many components to it, mostly dark ones, but it still stays light enough to not become a true horror story. There is just enough humor, hints of romance & determination to not just survive, but to live that keeps this story so engrossing, entertaining and hopeful that maybe it will become a romance where the girl DOES get her vampire. Okay, maybe that hope is all mine! To me a great vampire book is one which includes the vampire declaring his true love for me, his one & only soul mate that he wants to claim, then change me to spend eternity by his side. Or under him...over him...*drool* Wait, what was I saying? Oh yeah, that Thea is one fangtastically talented author who has me so enthralled that I don't ever want this to end! I have read a ton of vampire books. I have read a ton of other types of paranormal books. Some of those were light fluff, some great romances. Then there are the few that defy being categorized. This...this is one such story, book and series! YES! It truly is THAT FANGTASMIC! Thea is one helluva Master Storyteller for sure!! I cannot wait to see what future she has in store for us errrr, I mean Jade!!
Now I read book 1 in its entirety, but I did add a quick review for each of the 3 parts that make up this book 1 as follows:
THE RECRUITER REVIEW:
WOW!! Talk about being sucked completely into a book! This had me from the very start and I couldn't believe it when I hit "This story continues with the Priestess"! I love me my Vampires, but this is something different altogether. It's got all the makings of a great story - humor, sadness, broken heart, evil, mystery, intrigue and oh so much more! I cannot wait to find out who the good guy is, if the magic is real, if the curse is real, etc.
THE PRIESTESS REVIEW:
WHEW!! Just when you think you have SOMETHING figured out, WHAM! You find out just how wrong you are! I LOVE IT!! In this part Jade is trying to figure out just what the hell happened to her, but you also get to know her somewhat, or at least some of what got her here. As for figuring out anything else...well Thea expertly feeds us just enough information to feed OUR addiction, to whet our appetite, so to speak. Of course that also means that what information we are given just makes us thirsty for more! I have become a thrall - so easy to control! Must keep reading!! Must break spell...or get lost in it even deeper! Whichever way the rabbit hole goes. :-)
THE MEDIUM REVIEW:
Okay! Now THIS part is more closer to what I thought this story might be like...closer, but not too close! LOL There was definitely a lot more twists & turns that I was NOT in any way, shape or form expecting! WOW! Who'd a thunk it?!? Jade definitely pissed someone off in this life or her past ones because she sure got the wrong end happening to her now! I like that we got to know her a little more, but she is over-the-top sass! I know she has been through, well, everything, but really!?! Can she not dial back that attitude a bit, even in her own head?? Of course, that is just one more reason as to why I thoroughly enjoyed this and cannot wait to continue Jade's adventure in Vampire Land!

Jade gets her Vamp !!

It is extremely hard to describe Jade and Magnus' relationship. The book is full of heat, snark, sexyou banter, outsiders trying to interrupt their private time together. It's not your normal Vampire meets girl, sticks his fangs in and voila' you have a relationship. It builds slowly, but with a lot of heat and passion. I've heard the words fantastic, but I prefer organically blood induced sexual gymnastics. A definite read if you love "real" women and possessive Vampires. Thea Atkinson has made a 4☆ book well worth reading !!.
