About the Author
Jonn Lavinnder has studied Native American lore for twenty-five years, first with an Odawa shaman in Canada, then later with elder Fred Wahpepah in California. He lives in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia.

FROM THE INTRODUCTION:
The Ancestors’ Path is a divination system based on Native American spirituality as passed on in the oral tradition.This system is rooted in the Six Directions—East, South,West, North, Above, and Below—and it incorporates and reflects a Native American worldview concerning the interrelatedness of all things, most importantly the physical world represented by Mother Earth and the spiritual realm of Great Spirit.
The Ancestors’ Path system is not unlike The Runes or the I Ching. This is not surprising given the belief that the worldview that informs those divination systems was carried by migrating peoples across the Bering Strait to the Americas thousands of years ago. Thus a similar worldview and divinatory approach informs The Ancestors’ Path. Like those systems The Ancestors’ Path uses ancient symbols to divine answers to questions. It also considers the seasons of the year and phases of the moon, which are central to Native American life, for an in-depth understanding of our place and relationship with others and the world.

I have had experience with many other oracles, including The I-Ching, Geomancy, Tarot, Scrying and the observation of patterns in the natural world.
The Ancestor's Path is an incredible divinatory method. When the Paths are explored with the proper state of mind, when you use the oracle with proper ceremony, it can reveal stunning insights into your state of conciousness.
I have made difficult decisions using the oracular method and have been surprised by its accuracy on more than one occasion.
I highly recommend this system to any person who seeks a Shamanic, tribal interperetation of reality.
