Creative, steamy and engrossing fantasy of brotherhood and soulmates

Completely original and definitely way out of my usual reads (I generally steer clear of too much horror or outrageous fantasy) but this one had so many elements of surprise that I found myself sucked in (no pun intended) and had way too much fun with this story.
A werewolf and a vampire who were born in sin and left on their own to survive have a falling out of sorts and are separated for hundreds of years. Scythe (yes, like the blade) is at home with humans and living in modern day Atlanta, while his wolf brother Aric is an angry and hostile beast who prefers the company of his own kind.
The big twist is the HOT M/M angle this book takes...as Scythe finds his "mate" in the form of a nerdy cute, self described "geek" of a college student and when they must fight against many adversaries before they can be together and "procreate"...things take an exciting and over-the-top turn into fantasyland and there will be much bloodshed before the final curtain.
I would not usually pick this type of book to read but I'm sort of glad I had the chance to try it out and I think this new author is quite creative with her storytelling, while also keeping the heat in the steamy romance department (which is what drew me in).
If you like vampires, werewolves, fantasy, horror and M/M sexuality...this book is right up your alley.

The adventures continues!

I love the stories that Lourde's concocts! I have read most of her books and enjoyed them emmensely! I look forward to seeing new ones! This is the first I've purchased because I usually read them through Kindle Unlimited! The next generation is our, so I had to buy the first book. I am not disappointed though!

Suspenseful and fluid plot, well developed & used characters

The story does not snooze. The story gets into action and flows right up to the end. All the characters are used perfectly. If I were to wish for one area of improvement, it would be in the writing of the sex scenes. Defiantly needs more descriptive detail.
